These 2 words are ubiquitous in the world of marketing. Many professionals throw around these words without really knowing what they mean together. Marketing strategy is the foundation of the marketing plan. Business goals and objectives are developed and then you formulate the marketing strategy by summarizing a company's products/services and it's position relative to competition. The strategy is used to judge the appropriateness and effectiveness of the specific marketing plans. The marketing plans include the tactical elements implemented to drive sales goals and objectives.
It would be inappropriate and unprofessional of me to demonstrate the strategic marketing work I have performed at my previous employers. It's safe to say that in all of my roles, I have been involved with the development of marketing strategy. In some cases I was part of a team and in others I had sole responsibility.
